Dry Hop Beer Series Continues

Willsie-Hop-Farm-1

Still Hill’s first-year hops working their way up the trellis

Late last year we brought you a single grower-single hop Pale Ale featuring whole leaf cascade hops grown in East Berne by Ethan Willsie. This month, we are featuring Still Hill Hops, grown by Micah Kuhar of Kuhar Family Farm in Rensselaerville.

The Dry Hop Series highlights local farmers and crops that have become a part of Helderberg Brewery’s farm-to-glass supply chain. The single variety hops are used during the brewing process and again during the conditioning process, known as ‘dry hopping.’ While the resulting beer may not taste like your typical Pale Ale made with commercially available hops and grain, the goal is to familiarize our customers with the flavor of local ingredients.

Coming up next, we will be featuring a single hop and single malt beer grown by Rick Dennis of Argyle Craft Malts & Hops in Argyle, NY.
