Susannah Breslin
Susannah Breslin (2015) will be working on My Life as a Human Lab Rat, a nonfiction book about her experiences as a human research subject. For 30 years, researchers followed her life and the lives of over 100 other children from preschool into adulthood. The study of personality development set out to answer the question: How do we become who we are? A freelance investigative journalist, she is known for her groundbreaking, deeply investigated long form writing on the Great Recession’s devastating impact on the adult movie industry, “They Shoot Porn Stars, Don’t They?” Investigative journalist Adam L. Penenberg has described her as a “modern-age Studs Terkel.” Her work has appeared in Harper’s Bazaar, Details, Salon, Slate, The Daily Beast, Newsweek, Variety, and The Atlantic.
