Barbara Hockstader
Barbara Hockstader is a consultant to education technology companies and brings over 20 years of experience focused on leveraging technology to improve education for all children. Barbara helped to start Schoolnet, an education tech start-up focused on instructional improvement systems for districts and states. In her 12 years at Schoolnet, Barbara built and led the company’s first client services organization and then professional development. In 2011, Schoolnet was acquired by Pearson, where Barbara served as the Director of Strategic Marketing, building the company’s vision, branding and sales strategy related to personalized learning. Prior to Schoolnet, Barbara built professional development programs at TERC (for LabNet), the first virtual professional development community for teachers, and also for Classroom, Inc., an organization that creates literacy and leadership programs for at-risk K-12 students. Barbara founded the Manhattan School for Children’s First Lego League, an international robotics program for children organized by FIRST League and Lego Education.
