Seth Freed Wessler

Seth Freed Wessler is an independent journalist working on a reporting project about punishment and migration in the United States. Seth is a senior fellow at the Schuster Institute for Investigative Journalism. Previously, he was a staff reporter for NBC News In Plain Sight project and for Colorlines.com. Seth was a 2014 Soros Justice Media Fellow and reports with the Investigative Fund of the Nation Institute. He has reported for ProPublica, The Nation, This American Life, Elle Magazine and other outlets, and he won a Hillman Prize and the NYU Reporting Award.
