June Cross
Emmy-award winning documentarian June Cross’s work highlights stories of the dispossessed and the importance of community. She recently completed the Emmy-nominated “Wilhemina’s War, about an African-American grandmother fighting stigma around HIV in the South. She is best known for the autobiographical film about her family, “Secret Daughter.” A professor at Columbia Journalism School since 2000, she founded the documentary specialization there. She’s produced for PBS’s “Frontline,” CBS News and PBS’s “MacNeil/Lehrer NewsHour.” She lives in Washington Heights with jazz drummer Mike Clark and two cats.
