Elizabeth McLaughlin is the Senior Director for Global Resource Mobilization & Emerging Markets for CARE US. Liz has been with CARE for 15 years and 7 years with EDA focusing on the Balkans, and comes with extensive strategic and operational leadership experience across headquarters and country offices, and is a versatile and highly accomplished senior director / country director with exemplary credentials in transforming organizational vision into reality. Liz is driven by a passionate commitment to community development utilizing broad perspective and political insight in global programs, and possesses the development acumen to drive the Carey Institute forward and deliver success. A strategic visionary who leads from the front, she combines confidence to challenge and influence at all levels with the highest integrity, infectious enthusiasm and belief in human empowerment.
Liz has contributed significantly to building global and regional partners at all levels, and has a wide scope of understanding of the global market. Liz is known as someone who promotes external and internal partnerships and has very strong relationships with staff. She is always looking to learn and bring new innovative ideas to her work, and is especially keen to collaborate with others who will bring value to the work she and her teams focus on. Liz also brings corporate thinking to her work; for several years she worked as a stockbroker in Chicago and Edinburgh and has strong business practices.
Liz holds a B.A. from Edinburgh University majoring in Business Development.
