
Ana Karina López-Ramón
Ana Karina López-Ramón (2020) has specialized in political journalism for nearly 30 years. She has been a special reporter and regional editor in Quito for Vistazo magazine, ombudswoman and columnist of the former newspaper Hoy, editor and political reporter of Hoy Domingo magazine and political editor of El Comercio. She also worked in the formation of the civic organization Participación Ciudadana and as an observer in the International Civil Mission of the United Nations in Haiti (1993). She is a founding partner of Fundamedios. She was awarded first prizes and a mention in the Jorge Mantilla Awards from El Comercio newspaper in 1996, 2004, 2008, 2011 and 2012.
As a Logan fellow, Ana will be working with Mónica Jacqueline Almeida Chávez on a book that examines the political climate of Ecuador during the last decade.
