Adam Perez
Adam Perez (2018) is a freelance filmmaker. His last documentary “19 Hours” was screened at the LA Film Festival and was viewed over 21 million times on Facebook and won the Ruben Salazar Excellence in Journalism Award. Previously, he worked at Raze.tv, Fusion, The Los Angeles Times, TIME, and NBC News. Adam is a graduate of the Columbia Graduate School of Journalism and from USC’s Annenberg School for Communication and Journalism.
As a Logan Nonfiction Program fellow, Adam will be editing “Who We Become,” a documentary that follows Jace Matthew Jones, a trans man who moves to the Bronx to find a new life, and Kim and Cris, a trans couple who take him under their wing. The film explores the emotional costs of the journey to becoming one’s authentic self.
