Help Us Bring the World’s Best Emerging Classical Musicians to Rensselaerville
This August, the Carey Institute will host the 7th annual Catskill High Peaks Music Residency. Fifty hand-picked emerging musicians from around the world will gather for immersive master classes, small group workshops and public performances between August 7 and August 18. 
Internationally renowned cellist Yehuda Hanani has assembled an outstanding faculty to immerse these musicians in their crafts and inspire a love for sharing their talents with others. One very special part of the program is “Buddy Day,” an event where local students from musically underserved schools are paired with older, more experienced High Peaks residents for one-on-one lessons in violin, viola, cello and piano. This aspect of the High Peaks Residency has become increasingly meaningful as more and more arts budgets are cut throughout the country’s public school system.
We’re honored to provide the space for these young musicians to learn, create and share their outstanding classical music with the Greater Capital Region. We invite you to have a hand in making this program a success. Funding a $1,500 scholarship will support a resident for the entire length of the 12-day program. Many young people demonstrate great promise but do not have the financial resources to attend in-depth residencies such as High Peaks. Scholarship funders will help ensure that the world’s most talented classical musicians are provided the time and space to improve their skill—an imperative to protecting the legacy and ensuring the future of classical music. We’re thrilled to offer funders front-row seats to public performances during High Peaks.
