Supply chain traceability and transparency is still a new concept in an industry that prides itself on New York State provenance. Disclosing the source of raw materials can be a challenging step for producers.
For now, our focus is on raising awareness of Source NY and providing producers and growers with an opportunity to engage with it in a positive way. “Certified” status means that the operation took a step towards farm-to-glass marketing and supply chain transparency, whether by joining the Source NY Directory, making a map of their New York State suppliers, or participating in our Raw Grain Project.
In 2018, the Carey Institute will focus on bringing more beverage producers and farmers into the Source NY community. For more information, contact Rebecca at 519 797 5100 or rplatel@careyinstitute.org.
