April Featured Artist: Courtney Stannard

From the artist: Courtney Stannard was born in 1994 in Rensselaerville, New York. She is a graduate of the College of Saint Rose with a baccalaureate in Studio Art.

Stannard’s work has been exhibited across the United States and Ireland. Her work is featured in collections of galleries such as the Troy PhotoCenter and the Photographic Expressions Gallery of Troy. Her awards include a Burren College of Art fellowship as well as Stiwdio Maelor fellowship.

The Fleming Road Series has been an ongoing project for 3 years and has been shown in its multiple stages among galleries in the Capital District. The series is a documentation of lives past and lives present to soothe open wounds in these losses of family, friends, and strangers.

Courtney’s work will be on display at the Guggenheim Gallery April 1-30. Her opening reception will take place on Sunday, April 15 from 2-4. Click here for more details.
